Veteran producer Mark Venneri has been in the music industry for over 27 years. As Madoka, he continues to release new music while leading Metamotional Music and Private Reality Records.
In his teenage years, Mark experimented with electronic music using cheap cassette decks, toy keyboards, and second-hand audio mixers. He was drawn deeper into the underground electronic music scene after attending 1992’s Happiness Rave in Philadelphia. Since that experience, he has been shaping his musical vision and has been considered an innovator throughout his career and describes his complex and layered music as his Saturated Sound.ย
Mark began his career as a DJ in the mid-1990s, performing under the name DJ Relate in Philadelphia and the Midwest. He promoted and played events with a local DJ collective and hosted the college radio show Grooveshop from 1996 to 1998.
In 1998, he released his first self-produced vinyl 12″ Confessions of a DJ EP as Grooveshop, then, in 2000, he moved to New York City to further develop his music under the new artist name Madoka.ย
In 2001, Madoka distributed his My City EPย demo to industry leaders and received positive feedback, which led to his first major record deal for “Dive” on Londonโs Plastic Fantastic Records.
Markโs music continued to evolve, and in 2002, he secured an exclusive vinyl production and distribution deal with 3 Beat Label Management in the UK for his Private Reality imprint. In October 2004, Mark followed up with a digital record label called Metamotional Music. At that time, he also reignited his passion for performing and played global events in destinations such as Tokyo, Amsterdam, Turkey, Bulgaria, Vienna, New York, and Jacksonville Beach. Additionally, he began sharing his storytelling style known as his Saturated Sound, and has recorded over 50 promotional DJ mixes since that time.
