Under his Akodama moniker, Mark Venneri turns in a fresh interpretation of the 2002 hit “I’ll Be Here” by Automagic on David Morales’ Definity Records. The remix certainly adds credibility to the Akodama name. With this project, Mark took the song in a completely different direction than the deeper original, thickening the sound with a heavier beat, techy stabs, and clean vocals. In the “AutoRoute Mix,” the vocal sits perfectly inside a sea of cascading synth lines. Beware of the breakdown, as singer Nashom’s words ‘I’ll Be Here’ repeat and resonate into a blurry vocal cloud, only to clear up quickly and snap you right back into a clean, crisp beat for round two.
