Madoka –
A Cure For Loneliness

MMM007

Release Date: August 31, 2007
Mixed & Mastered
: May 20, 2007
Recorded & Mixed: MetaStudios, NYC
Formats: MP3

Running Time: 62 minutes

“Although I rarely write any music out of symbolic necessity, this album has evolved into meaning for me. A Cure For Loneliness has grown to reflect some actual relevance to my existence. Written and tested sporadically throughout the last two years, each of these songs could now creatively represent specific moments in my life recently. This curious connection led me to draw on the idea of presenting these eight particular songs also as a mixed set, and much to my surprise, sounded amazing after the very first time I mixed them together.

This is also my virgin attempt to create a full-length album. I believe I have been successful with my efforts to both wrap the music into a consolidated sound and to also tell a gratifying story. However, I am already even more excited about the prospect of writing another album, as I feel Cure is merely the foundation and cornerstone for constructing the future vision of my ‘Saturated Sound.’ This is quite a guarantee for the long-term Madoka fan!” — Madoka

Madoka – Drift

MMM003

Release Date: August 11, 2005
Formats: MP3

What can be said about this beauty. Finally this little gem sees the light of day. Drift makes its way to the masses and as it’s been years in the making–trust me on that one. Its various remixes have been featured in several sets including DJ So’s Soul Glider in 2005, Mo Shic’s February BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix in 2003, Madoka’s own Sounds For The Saturation Generation promo mix and was heavily supported by James Holden and Steve Gerrard before release. Many thanks to Peter at Deep Records for Bari Koral’s original vocals and to Roel for his ridiculously amazing remix work–still his best work to date if you ask me.

Until now, it was relatively unknown that Drift was initially signed to a few other labels in the past several years, beginning with upstart label Ready Mix Records in 2003, but the publishing rights returned to Madoka after negotiations collapsed each time. During that period, Ready Mix Records commissioned a mix from Canadian producer Tone Depth and his interpretation was later edited again by Madoka himself, but neither of these versions have been officially released.

Madoka’s edit of Tone Depth’s remix, however, did appear on Anna Maria X’s Believer 2 in 2004 but was only distributed in Greece. Just wanted to confirm a bit of Drift folklore and clear up any confusion for the true heads and collectors out there.

Madoka – MTTM

MMM001

Release Date: October 12, 2004
Formats: MP3

“I think it’s time for something different!” The flagship release for Madoka’s new digital label called Metamotional. Launched on October 12, 2004, both tracks immediately reached #1 on the Top Downloads chart of the now-defunct EDMDigital.com, where they first appeared for download and remained in that spot for nearly an entire month. Both cuts signaled a dramatic departure in Madoka’s usual big room tendencies, exploring deeper and dirtier musical directions. Also, MTTM was the best-selling Metamotional release on Beatport when listed in 2005.
