About The Mix

The inspiration for this entire mix came from just three NoiDoi songs. I love the recent Dupa Joi EP on Oslo. All 4 tracks are slammin’. “Si Vous” and “Carnitine” instantly reminded me of Halo Varga’s dirty classic Future! so I got the immediate urge to mix them all together for some twisted results. Before recording the mix, I did a preliminary mix of just those four songs and the test lasted almost one hour! I slowly slid into some sort of tranced-out, dirty, tribal, NoiDoiVarga coma–and wow–it was awesome! The Robag mix is insane too. Whatever that guy produces, just get it and play it–no questions asked.

Some other highlights for me include the Perc remix, the older (but still an absolute BEAST) D. Diggler tune and the Von Spar remix. The talking samples throughout the mix come courtesy of Alexi Delano from his Stories Of An Alien Brother album. The album has vocal bits between each full-length track that helps push the story of the album. One of the interludes is called “People Are Listening” and the name just stuck with me. If you are familiar with my previous mixes in past years, you may have noticed I generally will pick a sound or vocal sample that appears in the mix and use it as the theme to the entire mix. So thanks Alexi for a really cool concept album and for a little bit of inspiration. — Madoka

About The Mix

Recorded for a good friend. Meant to play more like a live DJ set rather than a promo mix.

Dedicated, Not Duplicated

Recorded:January 28, 2010
Running Time: 113 Minutes

About The Mix

It’s been great to see Techno making a comeback, especially to its earlier roots. I experienced several amazing parties recently and several DJs have particularly re-invigorated and influenced me lately. So this is a mix dedicated to them. It focuses more on the sound, technique and overall mix of the set rather than the actual songs. It draws parallels, inspiration and attitude from a few key DJs I heard last year including, Marcel Dettmann, Speedy J, Ben Watt, Danny Howells, Danny Tenaglia and Robag Whrume. So here is my thanks and appreciation to just a few of the Masters. This mix was prepared exclusively for Patty to air on her Serendipity show on Proton Radio. — Madoka
